Ready to feel old? I’ll give you a minute, because I wasn’t fully prepared for the emotions that would come with the simple Elvis Duran and the Morning Show banter. I was just minding my own business, in my own little world, on my way to work and next thing you know the topic turned to songs that are turning 20 years old this year. As they were playing these songs, it immediately brought back high school memories of driving down San Jose Blvd. in my little blue Honda Civic blasting these exact same songs on my way to school like I owned the roads! (Some will say I probably still act that way with the way I drive and honestly I won’t disagree!)
As a side note, I dipped my hands in a little punk music at the time and realized that my favorite album from Unwritten Law came out in 1998!!! (I may or may not have downloaded that to my Spotify list, just now, once I realized it!)
Anyway, some songs that are turning 20 years old this year include:
- …..Baby One More Time (Brittney Spears)
- I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing (Aerosmith)
- The Boy is Mine (Brandy and Monica)
- Believe (Cher)
- Ghetto Superstar
- Thubthumping (Chumbawamba – definitely a 90’s name!)
In addition – SEX AND THE CITY turns 20 this year!!!C-R-A-Z-Y
Click here if you want to see a full list of songs – I didn’t want to put them all down, but it’ll definitely make you go down memory lane!
So seriously, what has happened?!?! Where has 20 years gone!!! Ironically, I’m reading a motivational book right now (Hello! 18 things to accomplish in 2018) that asks this question and makes you think about how you are actually living your life – I’m only about 18 pages into it (not a huge reader) but I’m enjoying it and will give a full report!
So – at the risk of completely embarrassing me and some of my best friends (then and now) I will post the following pictures. I am scheduling a date SOON to post more after Ashley Cooney Auld stated that she had an entire shoebox full of pictures from this timeframe!!!🙈
Side note: My email address @epippin98 is officially 20 years old. . .I set it up in 1998 . .people always ask if the ’98 was the year I graduated. . . .😒
