Over Cocktails

I have been MIA and I have absolutely NO excuse other than the fact that I haven’t had much to say – I KNOW, IT SHOCKS ME TOO!!!

Something about this week has been out of the ordinary. I don’t know if it’s because work has been crazy busy, I skipped Taco Tuesday or I’ve been extremely domesticated all week. Regardless, I’m not complaining, but……I’m not loving it either.

  1. I had a great weekend last weekend.  It included dinner at my brother and sister-in-laws house on Friday (somehow they watched Olivia for me AND made me dinner) where they made low-carb tacos – the cheese was melted into a taco shell and it was DELICIOUS! I WILL be making these myself.  Saturday kicked off with two pure barre classes, cleaning and then catching up with great friends at some local breweries – Green Room/Southern Swells…..my kind of Saturday; exercise, productive and fun with a great group of people. Then celebrated dad’s birthday over the Super Bowl and watched the Eagle’s win – THANK GOODNESS!! (Should’ve been Jags, but whatever, I’m not bitter! 😝)
  2. I am quickly realizing I need to SLOOOOWWWWW down.  I have always been a self-proclaimed very impatient person.  Well, I realized I just need to slow down after driving my aunts around last week and basically taking ten years off their lives as they were holding on to Oh Sh*t bar for the less than five minute ride! So I’ve really been working on it and I can’t promise that I will succeed, but be patient (see what I did there!😝)
  3. On that note, I was leaving for Pure Barre yesterday morning at 5:45 as I do every morning and apparently didn’t wait for the garage to go up fully (#halfasleep).  The sound of a garage door hitting your car is NOT a something you want to hear first thing in the morning.  I could’ve sworn it cracked my back windshield, but fortunately, it only took off my little fin (over my antennae) at the top of my car and there’s a dent in it that you can barely see.  It’s honestly not that bad, but terrified me and I’m still a bit depressed about it. I have never hurt my car, and although I got it in ’09 – I still absolutely love it and don’t want another one. Recently I joked with one of my friends saying if I won the lottery I don’t think I would buy another car, he quickly called my bluff and I’m pretty sure he’s right, but sadly that’s not a decision I have to deal with right now. IMG_7802 2
  4. As I mentioned earlier, I have been very domesticated all week by staying home and cooking/cleaning/laundry every night.  I signed up for Hello Fresh and received my first  three meals. My evenings have been spent prepping/cooking.  These meals have all been so yummy and I love the fact that it’s perfect portion control and you don’t have a lot of leftover glazes, sauces, spices, etc. NO pictures though, but I have run the dishwasher WAY more than usual 😉 I doubt I will keep the subscription going on a permanent basis, but it’s nice to have different dinner options!
  5. My credit card has been compromised.  What a friggin PITA!!! All my automatic payments have to be rescheduled and trying to figure those out will be a task in itself.  SO extremely frustrating! 😡
  6. fullsizeoutput_1b21I can go on and on talking about “This Is Us” – it is SERIOUSLY one of the best shows I’ve ever seen (granted I’m not a great judge, since I don’t watch a lot of tv) but I put my phone on “Do Not Disturb” when watching each episode and fully engage in the hour of television and LOVE every second! Of course Jack Pearson would get the dog AND the photo albums!!! ❤️

Anyway, my sister, cousin and his family are in town this weekend and I am beyond excited to spend it hanging with the people I love the most! I hope to have more to talk about next week …. although looking back, I think I did ok for some mindless reading on a Friday morning 😂!

Have a great weekend!

Over Cocktails

THANK GOODNESS IT IS FINALLY FRIDAY and FEBRUARY!!! Anyone else feel like this week has DRAGGED on and on and on, and that doesn’t even compare to the month of January, which was just not a good month and I am beyond excited that it’s in the rearview mirror now!

I’ve got a lot of things to look forward to in February and ready to use this weekend as a kick off to a great month!

Thanks Nikki for the perfect picture!

  1. I’m officially a F-A-I-L-U-R-E and I am more than ok with it, but I didn’t make it through Dry January. Obviously, there were the two Jaguars playoff games where I conceded and had a few beers because as I’ve said before, there’s something wrong wtih watching football and drinking water! But I was going to extend Dry January by two days and I didn’t even make it to that point ☹ I had a rough week and decided my sanity was worth being a failure by a couple days and to be honest – I have no regrets!
  2. I tried a few new places in town last weekend and LOVED them all (and as I write this post, I’m highly embarrassed at how bad I was this weekend with my food choices – although, in my defense, I don’t feel I was that bad, I maintained portion control and still worked out every day!)
    1. Grub Burger – just opened at Town Center, TECHNICALLY I didn’t eat, but my friends got extra food that a server just graciously gave them to try and I came in and it was staring me in the face and I had to have a bite or two! So good, plus they have a full-service bar. WIN – WIN!
    2. Mini Donut – first off, I am not a sweets lover, but I had to try to this place. They have all different types of flavors and you could try three mini donuts for $2.50 – NOT BAD AT ALL! The line probably took about 25 minutes to get through, but fortunately Southern Swells (brewery next door) was having their one-year anniversary party, so I was GTG with a beer in hand!!! For the record, I got the fruity pebbles (because I wanted to try something I wouldn’t normally get), the peanut butter cup (which was my absolute favorite), and the honey maple bacon (which are definitely worth a try) donuts!
    3. Cheddar’s – went with one of my favorite ladies who I’m fairly confident won’t ever read this because I don’t think she reads my blog…one day we were talking and I said “Oh, I’ll write about that in my ‘Over Cocktails’ post” and she said “OMG, that is such a cute idea!!!” HAHA!!! It’s always great to catch up with her, I didn’t eat nearly enough of my food, but I was so impressed at how reasonable the place was – it was packed and the wait was about an hour.
    4. Florida Cracker Kitchen – This is a MUST, I’m not sure if it was just the comfortable feeling of good cooking, the Bloody Mary bar out front (or in my case – the mimosa bar), sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs while waiting an hour for a table, or the amazingly cute retail shop – still regretting not getting that hat (guess I’ll be going back soon!) But enjoyed the company with my friend Matt, who is always up for trying new things with me!
  3. I did a poll on Instagram last week to determine if the majority of people like strawberry jelly or grape jelly more on their PB&Js. I am a grape jelly lover, but apparently the minority at 22%.IMG_7697
  4. I went to the theater play of Lion King last night and it was SO INCREDIBLY good.  The costumes in itself made the show and I kept thinking to myself how I lack creativity after seeing those! My mom graciously gave me her ticket, so I spent the evening with a wonderful group of ladies (her best friends which included my two of my favorite aunts!)
  5. Just for A Lil Bit of Cuteness

Hung with this little man this week who told his mom that I was “kind”

LOVE when cat sits like this!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Over Cocktails

My goodness, how is it already FRIDAY!!! This week seemed to FLY by and I was a homebody all week. Does that mean I’m actually growing up and becoming an adult? Highly doubtful, let’s face it, it’s likely  because I am in mourning with one more full week of Dry January and it’s starting to take a toll on me, especially after a mentally exhausting/challenging week!

On that note, let’s get to the first “Over Cocktails” point I would like to make.

  1. Here I am 26 days into Dry January (minus two, but whatever that’s irrelevant) and I haven’t lost one pound….NADA, ZERO, ZILCH, NOTHING!!! Do you know how frustrating this is?!?! I have gone to Pure Barre every day, minus the days I was sick, but let’s face it, I wasn’t eating then anyway! I swear I believe my body is meant to have a drink or two…the morning after the Jags games where I fell off the wagon, I woke up and my clothes fit looser and scale was lighter.  Yeah, yeah, I know – dehydration, but whatever – I like the first theory – my body is meant to have a glass or two a night!
  2. JAKE OWEN CONCERT was Friday night!  I went with one of my best friends, Nikki, and we had SUCH A BLAST.  Neither of us were drinking and it was probably the first concert for both of us without a beer in hand, but we had so much fun!  Jake Owen did an AH-MAH-ZING job engaging the audience and he seems so incredibly down-to-earth! He got his career in country music after a wakeboarding accident in college took him off the golf course and on to teaching himself to play the guitar. Apparently I’ve been living under a rock when it was news to me that he was my age, from Florida and went to Florida State!

Not the best seats (my fault), but still a blast!!!

  3. My heart was broken after our Jags loss – it was SUCH a great game though.  After a few actually A LOT of bad calls, It was a tough loss, but it is what it is and we will come back stronger next year! I had a great time watching the game at one of my favorite breweries.  They had a watch party and the atmosphere was so much fun!!! We sat in the brewery area and got there three hours early to claim our spot – AND WE WERE ALMOST TOO LATE! 😱 It was P-A-C-K-E-D!!!

Best view in the house! (yes, we were ahead most of the game – until the most important part!)

  4. I got my first “Big Fat Check” from Ebates and it was the easiest $7.16 I ever made.  I checked my balance for next pay period and I’m already up to $37.76. Granted about $30 of that is from people who signed up after I referred them, but STILL – SO EASY!!! You can read my post about ebates here. If you’d like to sign up with my referral code, use:  https://www.ebates.com/r/EPIPPI4?eeid=28187 (you’ll get $10 for signing up with this code after spending $25)  TRUST ME ON THIS ONE, I don’t promote unless I truly love/believe in it! IMG_7667
  5. I watch one tv show regularly and that is “This Is Us” and if you haven’t seen the last episode, you may want to stop reading here. But I was so incredibly nervous after the first 30 minutes knowing that a lot was going to be explained in this episode and it did not disappoint.

That crock pot is the EXACT SAME ONE I HAVE and wrote about here. I got it when my grandmother passed away and love the size of it, but I will be thinking twice, (probably three/four times), about using it again – ESPECIALLY when I am not home!

Well, I had a few other things that I wanted to write about, but tonight is not the night! Tired and too many other things on my mind.

Over Cocktails

  1. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of the excitement surrounding another Jaguars WIN and NOW we are one game away from the Super Bowl!!! I am so friggin excited for this game on Sunday…..nervous, but EXTREMELY excited! I just hope we surprise the nation and win against the Patriots! My dad told me the other day that “I have to believe” . . . . UMMM seriously dad, I’ve been believing all along!
  2. With that being said, I fell off the wagon last weekend watching the game.  I was sitting at the bar and seeing these towers filled with this yummy bubbly stuff all around me and I couldn’t help myself.  I’m not going to lie either – I don’t feel bad about it and will likely do it again on Sunday. There’s just something about watching the Jags play an AH-MAH-ZING game with tons of my closest friends (aka Jags fans)!  I surprisingly have some really great willpower and have given up alcohol for lent a few times, but c’mon, let’s face it, that’s giving it up for God, not me and my Jaguars! However, in an effort to live up to my New Years Resolution for January, I will extend Dry January by two days – I know it’s not the same, but it’s the best I got! And let’s hope come February 4th I will actually be excited to watch the Super Bowl and not just the commercials/halftime show. . . with a beer in hand!😏
  3. Last week I mentioned that I got sick, well here I am nine days later with a lingering cough and NO VOICE!!! Yes, that could have something to do with the incessant screaming I was doing on Sunday, but in reality it’s primarily because of my cough.  Random Pippin Fact #840: one of my vocal cords is paralyzed and when I have a cough, I’m straining the only one I use. I know this because I went to the doctor who stuck a microscope up my nose, down my throat (story for another time) and said I was only using one.  Anyway, I have very little voice right now and it’s driving me INSANE!!!  Others may secretly be loving it, but I can’t stand the silence and fear it’ll continue after the Jake Owen concert tonight and game on Sunday. . .
  4. This is the last bit of Jaguars talk, but click here to see a short three minute video telling America who the Jaguars are and asking everyone to cheer for us this weekend:  Video Image
  5. And in an effort to post something other than Jaguars related, here’s a picture of me and my girls.  I have never been successful at getting them both to participate, but always laugh at the attempts! (And this must’ve been pre-smile/cat jumping away)IMG_7625.jpg
  6. I LIED. . .

Jags Fifer and Pip

Over Cocktails

IMG_7585.jpgThis week started out so promising with a Jags win and plans every night, but that was quickly turned around when I came down with some sort of funk on Wednesday, so this post may not be that exciting as I’m still fighting it 😞

1. THE JAGUARS WON!!! I stayed true to my “Dry January” for the MOST part, I said before the game that I would have a swig of champagne as a toast if we won, so I did and it was literally just a sip.  In fact, the sip was so little that I was literally checking to make sure I got every last drop.

To be honest, it wasn’t THAT bad not drinking because it was flippin freezing, so I was happy not to have a cold beer in hand.  We left the house and it was perfect weather, but I threw a jacket in my car just in case!  SO GLAD I DID, but wishing I brought gloves and an actual scarf to keep me warm.

2. Most of my friends that I went to the game with all came down sick and of course I wasn’t far to follow.  It hit me hard on Wednesday afternoon and I had to cancel dinner with a great friend of mine, sorry Jeff!!! I sent the picture below to him and he said (and I can’t argue it) that you can see that I wasn’t feeling well by my eyes. IMG_7606.jpg

I very rarely get sick, but started coming down with something right at the end of the year and I took NyQuil and felt better, but apparently it wanted to come back HARD!  I can’t recall a time that I called out of work sick, but did on Thursday and spent most of the day in bed. I have never slept so much in a 24 hour period, but it was probably a good thing b/c I’m starting to feel better now. My parents saved the day when they dropped off a “care package” at my doorstep full of meds, soups and FLOWERS!!! So thoughtful ❤️

3. I am working on a list of things I want to accomplish in 2018 and extremely excited to share it.  I have a feeling this will be a great year and I’m looking forward to accomplishing everything I’ve been thinking about doing!!!

It’s 9:37 now and I’m about to take NyQuil again and will hopefully be back to my annoying/peppy self tomorrow!

Over Cocktails

Seriously, how did I have nothing to do tonight, but it’s 9:22pm and I’m just sitting down on the couch to write this post (now that I think about it, I’m seeing a trend).  But maybe it had to do with the dinner I chose to make, the laundry I decided to do, the thank you cards I wrote and the documentary I watched about how the city of Jacksonville got the Jacksonville Jaguars (which was actually very interesting)! But whatever, I’m going in to the weekend ready to play, not work!!!

Topics for “Over Cocktails” this weekend include:

Although, it should be re-labeled “Over Shirley Temple’s” for the next month.               I don’t drink Shirley Temple’s, don’t even know what’s in them, but it sounds better than “Over Water”

1. Apple Watch – I never knew how much I NEEDED one until I had one.  I bought mine after my sister and mom got one for Christmas and I couldn’t let them have all the fun without me! I also didn’t know I had a bit of a competitive side until Pure Barre was cancelled Wednesday morning because of potential ice on the roads, so I left work early to go to the afternoon class! Gotta get all my “activity rings”!

2. Chicken and Dumplings – I made chicken and dumplings on Wednesday and they were Y-U-M-M-Y  – https://alilbitofpip.com/category/crock-pot/ – I had a small amount leftover after sharing with my friends (who went back for seconds #humblebrag) for an appetizer before dinner was ready and it was just as good reheated!

Someone wanted some leftovers – BUT I don’t share!!

3. Ski Clothes – I have been going “skiing” (I use that term very loosely because IF I do, I go down once and I’m good) every year for the last five years and have been borrowing my friends ski clothes since.  Finally, I decided to buy myself some with the after Christmas sales – got the entire outfit (jacket, ski pants and gloves) for $330 from REI – CAN’T BEAT THAT!!

I’m obsessed with the jacket and even tried to find a way to wear it this week (temps have been FREEZING from the storm that was actually named the ‘bomb cyclone’ – who knew?!?!) BUT the pants are too long, so I’ve gotta figure out how I want to handle that this weekend. 😒 #shortpeopleproblems

IMG_7542.jpgYUP, that’s me, in my work clothes trying on my new ski jacket and gloves.  Pay no attention to the un-made bed – I’m usually much better than that, BUT the cold temperatures make it EXTREMELY difficult to get out of bed on time!

4. Fun at work – I had a few minutes to spare Thursday afternoon at work, so I put together everyone’s stats from our NASCAR Racing Experience (read about it here)
I’m pretty impressed with how it turned out, plus I actually enjoyed doing it!

In case you were wondering what I do in my “spare time”

5. Thank you cards – Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I think thank you cards are so important and I’m ashamed to say I didn’t do any for my birthday, but I did them for Christmas.  It’s always fun to get something other than bills and flyers in the mail!

2017 Year-in-Review

Instead of doing an “Over Cocktails” post today, I decided it would be smart to do a 2017 “Year-in-Review” Just pictures by the month (with captions)  It definitely was not one of my better years, but certainly was not one of my worst! So no complaints, but I’m looking forward to a new year with new goals/experiences/opportunities and ADVENTURES!!!

Over Cocktails

BUSY WEEK, this may be bit long-winded, sorry!

1. I had dinner/drinks/gift exchange with some of my best friends on Wednesday night and it is always a night of fun and laughter.  We all have so much to say that throughout the week there’s numerous texts going back and forth for “Topics of Discussion” and you can always tell when someone has something to say b/c they are crossing their fingers in hopes they won’t forget!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all my gifts, they know me so well – I got a candle that smelled amazing, books on blogging and questions, an ornament for Olivia, a corkcicle stemless wine glass and a 3-in-1 insulated can cooler, We didn’t take any pictures and it was probably a blessing in disguise because we slummed in out in our PJs, but here’s one from a year ago!

2. I attended my friend Ty’s company’s Christmas Party with him last year and was requested to come back this year – not sure what I did, but I’m glad I did it! Ty literally booked me back in March and I’m glad he did.  Once again, the party did not disappoint and by the end of the night I was on the dance floor and even made a special appearance at Mango’s (only Jacksonville Beaches classiest bar)!

I didn’t take any pictures at the party (apparently that’s a trend I was keeping this week) but did have the clever one below of me and Ty at Mango’s – which pretty much sums up our friendship and how I was feeling after a night of drinking! (I uber’d there and back, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing!)Ty and Pip

3. Obviously I had a few too many cocktails at the Christmas Party and I’m not going to lie, it was a bit difficult to get my feet on the ground at 7:00am, but thankfully after a quick shower, I was feeling fine and ready to tackle the tailgate!

If you’re on any of my social media sites, you know that I have been working hard to host a tailgate with my company to benefit two amazing organizations  Dreams Come True and The Harvey Bernhardt Foundation.  The tailgate was before the last regular season Jaguars home game and it was a HUGE success.  Official numbers are not in, but I was in charge of tickets and if my numbers are right, we will be donating approximately $2,800 toward EACH charity! We had 244 people attending – and only estimated for 200.  FORTUNATELY we did not run out of food/drinks which I was obviously not too concerned about since I was still drinking!!

and the best part is

Special thanks to my friend Matt for waking up early to drop me off downtown, only to turn around and go back to our tailgate!

4. My Pure Barre studio started a challenge this month to complete 20 classes in 31 days – jokes on them, I completed 20 in 21!!! I typically average about 23 classes a month, so I knew I wouldn’t have a hard time getting there, but I know the next week and a half is going to be extremely busy, so I wanted to get in as many classes as possible. (Even though I have full intention of going during the holiday’s. . .but we’ll see how well that plays out!)

5. One of my best friends hosted an Ugly Sweater Party and of course she had to do a Pippin Food Trial.  These were posts that we were doing about six years ago to get me to try fruits and vegetables.  The faces I make are absolutely ridiculous and I should be embarrassed by them, but her commentary makes it so worth it.  Plus – that’s how I realized I’ll drink my veggies, so something good came out of it, RIGHT?!?!

Believe it or not, I actually had people asking me about the Food Trials and if we were going to bring them back, so we got a lot of positive response when the post came up on everyone’s newsfeed! As embarrassing as it is, the food that I tried for the comeback was a cranberry soaked in wine – I figured it couldn’t be that bad, but ended up spitting it out! FAIL!

I’m really excited about my upcoming posts – make sure to register your email so you don’t miss them!

Over Cocktails

I’m not sure what happens this time of the year, but seriously how does the week pass by so quickly?!?! I can’t even explain what I did last week and why there wasn’t an “Over Cocktails” post, but here I am tonight starting one at 9:55! I told myself this morning I would be on the couch at 7:30 writing and in bed at a decent hour – clearly I’ve already messed that one up!

  1. First and foremost:  I have been asked to be the MAID OF HONOR in one of my best friends weddings. I am honestly so friggin excited to be such a huge part in her big day!!! She deserves the absolute best and I am so incredibly happy for her!

Me with the beautiful bride-to-be at her sisters wedding earlier this year!

I’m not going to deny that I had a STRANGE feeling I was going to be in the wedding – especially when she asked me for my dress and shoe size and if I liked the bridesmaids dresses😝  (So generous that she purchased these for us!!!) She asked in the cutest way, but to be honest, I didn’t expect anything less from her! She is doing everything perfect for her perfect day! I did have to read it a couple times to see that it said Maid of Honor!!!

2. IMG_7065.jpgI have really been making a conscience effort to try new things.  I’m not GREAT at it, but really trying. As most know, I am an incredibly picky eater – I hate it and wish I could change it.  I didn’t bring my lunch to work and decided to try a food truck. VERY RARELY do I eat out for lunch, but I had no choice and I was in a rush. Naturally I started walking toward a food truck that I know I love, but realized I needed to try something different, so I went to an Asian-Mexican cuisine truck – ummm….what is Asian-Mexican?!?! I was going to find out. . .

Already out of my comfort zone, I decided to follow the trend and go with didn’t go with a ramen burrito, not a typical taco.  It was weird, but it was good, I wouldn’t say “crave-able good”, but I’d eat it again! Of course I custom ordered it to my liking with no veggies – I ended up taking out most of the ramen, so looking back maybe I didn’t venture too far from my comfort zone. . .🤔

3. So, this is the real reason for me starting this post so late.

Conversation with my mother this morning

Mom: “You really should decorate for Christmas you have such pretty Christmas decor.”

Me: “It’s a lot of work and I’m planning on cleaning tonight.”

Mom: “Where do you keep your Christmas decorations?”

Me: “In the shelves in the garage.”

{Conversation over}

Came home from work and started thinking about conversation with mom and I realized I should decorate, so I had the genius idea to decorate for an hour and then relax on couch. HAHA – jokes on me! Three and a half hours later I was on the couch and writing this blog post! The funny part is halfway through decorating, mom calls me asking how my cleaning is going, I said I thought about what she said and decided to decorate! THEN SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME SHE WAS GOING TO COME OVER AND SURPRISE ME BY DECORATING MY PLACE FOR ME!!! UGH – If only I waited one more day! Regardless it made us both laugh. I don’t have a tree. but I did put up half of my decorations and I even put lights on the exterior of my house!

I’m not sure why it took so long, but it did and I’m happy with the little bit of decor I put out!

Over Cocktails

Well since I missed last week, this post may be a bit long-winded – but let’s face it, that’s nothing new with me!

Day Before Thanksgiving – I’m not sure what made it so great this year, but it was absolutely fantastic. It started on Wednesday night with a dinner at my brothers sister-in-laws house and she’s so great and assigns everyone something to bring.  I get the fortunate benefit of bringing wine and I am not complaining because I work that day and let’s face it, everyone loves the girl who brings wine!

BELIVE IT OR NOT, I went to a Pure Barre Intensive class (75 minutes)  – no, this year, I did not go to Pete’s Bar or sit outside and watch the half marathon runners run by while I have mimosa in hand. (Some will say this was because of the rain, but I signed up way before the forecast and apparently I’m growing up!!!)

Don’t get me wrong, mimosas were poured directly after class – WARNING:  I didn’t even shower before I had one 😳

We then went over to my aunt/uncle’s house and I was in charge of appetizers – again, another hit to the party because people (ahem, me!) come hungry and immediately looking for appetizers! Plus, I love it because I get to bring what I want – WIN/WIN!!! (Deviled eggs and brie pastry cups FOR-THE-WIN!)

Pay no attention to the wine-stained lips/teeth!

BLACK FRIDAY: In case you couldn’t tell by the wine stained lips/teeth above, I was in no condition to drive home on Thanksgiving, so I stayed at my parents house and woke up to read the Black Friday deals, I have NEVER been a Black Friday shopper (crowds are not my thing!) BUT as I was looking through the ads,  I saw the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner on sale from $500 to $300 and was about to purchase ONLINE from Best Buy and my mom said I should check Bed Bath and Beyond to get an additional 20% off and IT WORKED! I got a $500 Vacuum for $256 delivered directly to my door and I didn’t even leave the house! The Dyson arrived Tuesday night and I have never been so excited to set it up and start vacuuming.  Is this what 36 feels like?!?!

WEEKEND: Saturday and Sunday – I had the unfortunate benefit of watching my two favorite teams (Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars) lose in football. But at least I was in good company. On Sunday, I got the entire family to meet me at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Jags for a pre-birthday celebration.  It was so nice to have everyone around, even if it was a LOSS.

Two other bonuses to my weekend include:

Saturday: Lunch date with one of my best friends from Atlanta, we sat outside at ZETA and I’m going to go on record and say their brunch was PHENOMENAL!!

Sunday: I got to meet this little guy (a whopping two weeks old) and catch up with his momma for a couple hours!  💙💙IMG_6777.jpg

MONDAY aka MY BIRTHDAY!!! I have always been “that” person who embedded my birthday in my friends/family members heads NOVEMBER 27th, so it came as no surprise when I tried to send out a “let’s catch up over drinks on Monday ” text to my friends, they all knew that it was really a reason to get together and celebrate my birthday – even though in all honesty, there were plenty of other things to be celebrated! I had some of my best friends join me at Cowford Chophouse for happy hour and appetizers and the weather/views were fantastic! I’ve known most of these girls more than half my life and feel so fortunate that they will all be life-long friends!

On another side note – I have always been an avid TODAY show viewer, watch it every morning as I’m getting dressed for work.  The news broke this week about Matt Lauer getting fired for sexual misconduct. Obviously I am reading these news stories VERY INTENTLY and without getting into the scandal itself,  I am absolutely dumfounded by how many people have such horrible grammar/spelling when commenting on these stories!! I cannot understand how people will have so much to say, but say it so incredibly stupid for ANYONE to read! That’s my rant for the day!
